No. Discretion is the entire point of the engagement. Intake happens on a device and number you control, billing descriptors are neutral, and our surveillance operators work covertly in unmarked vehicles. We never contact, approach or speak with the person of interest.

Yes. Engaging a licensed Queensland private investigator to conduct surveillance and OSINT for a lawful purpose — including suspected infidelity — is legal. Our operators hold a current QLD PI Licence (4783597) under the Security Providers Act 1993 (Qld) and work strictly within state law.

Is it legal Australia-wide?

Yes, with state-by-state nuances. PI licensing is regulated per state/territory (e.g. SIA in NSW, VPLRD in Victoria, WA Police Licensing). We are licensed in QLD and partner with licensed operators interstate when surveillance crosses borders. Federal laws — the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), Surveillance Devices Act 2004 (Cth) and the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 (Cth) — apply nationally and we comply with all of them.

What can you lawfully do?

Observe and photograph/video people in public places where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy, conduct OSINT on publicly available information, document patterns of life, and produce a written report. We operate within the QLD Invasion of Privacy Act 1971 and Commonwealth surveillance laws.

What will you NOT do?

Accepted Answer

We will not record private conversations without consent of a party to the conversation, place tracking devices on vehicles we do not own, hack into phones, email or social media accounts, install spyware, impersonate the subject to financial institutions, or trespass on private property. Evidence obtained unlawfully is inadmissible and exposes you to criminal liability.

How long does an infidelity investigation take?

Most matters resolve within 1–3 surveillance windows. A typical engagement runs 2–4 weeks: a 24–48 hour intake and planning phase, targeted surveillance on the highest-probability days/times (often Friday/Saturday nights, lunch hours, or stated 'work trips'), then a 3–5 day reporting phase. Urgent matters can begin within 24 hours.

Confidential intake is available 24/7. For urgent matters we can deploy surveillance within 24 hours of engagement. Most non-urgent matters begin within 3–5 business days once scope and lawful purpose are confirmed in writing.

What information should I provide at intake?

Accepted Answer

Helpful inputs include: full name and physical description of the person of interest, vehicle make/model/registration, home and work addresses, normal daily routine, days/times you suspect activity, known associates or suspected third party (if any), recent unusual behaviour (phone secrecy, sudden gym membership, unexplained absences), and any documents you already hold (receipts, screenshots, messages on your own device).

What evidence do clients typically bring us?

Most clients arrive with one or more of: unexplained credit card or bank entries, screenshots of suspicious messages from a shared device, dating-app notifications, hotel or restaurant receipts, dashcam footage, gift confirmations, changed phone passcodes, or a partner's altered routine. We assess what you have, identify the gaps, and design surveillance to fill them.

Can I just check their phone myself?

No — and we strongly advise against it. Accessing a partner's phone, email or social accounts without authorisation is an offence under the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth) and may also breach the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979. It can result in criminal charges against you and renders any 'evidence' you obtain inadmissible and potentially weaponisable against you in family court.

What if there is nothing to find?

We will tell you. Honest negative findings — a clean pattern of life over the surveillance window — are genuinely valuable and often restore certainty to a relationship. We do not pad reports or invent activity to justify fees.

Can the evidence be used in family court?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Although Australia is a no-fault divorce jurisdiction (Family Law Act 1975), evidence of infidelity can become relevant to parenting matters (where a new partner is exposed to children), property settlements (where marital assets have been spent on a third party — known as 'wastage'), or where coercive/controlling behaviour is part of the broader picture. Our reports are drafted to FCFCOA evidentiary standards.

Yes. All matters are subject to written confidentiality. Files are encrypted at rest, accessible only to the lead investigator, and destroyed on your instruction after the matter closes. We do not share, sell or repurpose case data.
